2016 Sustenance Festival Brings Communities Together
Vancouver’s Sustenance Festival focuses on making connections in your communities through a series of events focused on food preservation, gardening, and the right to food in October and November around Vancouver.
This festival is city-wide festival and includes everything from local food workshops on food preparation, meal sharing, nutritional classes and gardening sessions for both young and old and in between, all taking place in community centres and public spaces throughout Vancouver.
RIPE 2015! – Harvest Celebration Dinner
Celebrate the harvest with Vancouver Farmers Markets at our annual fundraising dinner on Sunday, October 16 from 5:30pm-8pm at the Roundhouse Community Centre! A showcase of our farms and producers paired with top local chefs Clement Chan of Torafuku, Meeru Dhalwala of Vij’s Rangoli, Ned Bell of Chefs for Oceans, Quang Dang of West Restaurant,Deniz Tarakcioglu of Cafe Medina, Karen McAthy of Blue Heron Creamery, Ryan Reed ofNomad, and Shelome Bouvette of Chicha. RIPE 2016 will feature 8 culinary creation stations,dessert tastings, seasonal cocktails by Gillespie’s Fine Spirits and Salt Spring Coffee, andcraft beverages from BC Wine Studio and Persephone Brewing.
